A new shop launches in Dubai with no staff and no checkout counter

A brand new shop has opened in Mall of the Emirates in Dubai with no staff, no cashiers and no check out counter.

If you loved the solitude of lockdown, this is perfect for you. You don’t have to talk or interact with anybody!

The Carrefour City+ store has been launched by Majid Al Futtaim and is the first shop in Dubai with no staff.

All you need is your phone and the Al Futtaim App on your phone. And some money, of course. We all need money for shopping still, sadly.

Once you’re ready to shop, you simply pick up what you want and they’ll be automatically added to your digital shopping basket.

Then you just walk out of the shop.

We know, we know! That sounds far too easy, but apparently, it’s true. Imagine a world where you won’t get a packet of chewing gum as change, a world where you’re never late because the check out queue is massive, a world where you don’t get judged on your seriously random shopping list.

Plus, they have over 1,3000 items to choose from including snacks, essentials, meals and more.
