A World Record Attempt Fail But Still An Amazing Turnout For Joe Wicks

Insta famous (and increasingly world-famous) fitness personality, Joe Wicks, failed to achieve a new world record yesterday at Sky Dive Dubai during his group HIIT session. But his spirits weren’t dampened after an amazing turnout.

Thousands turned out for the event

The high intensity, interval training (HITT) session was organised by The Body Coach in conjunction with Dubai Fitness Challenge in an attempt to set a new record for the largest HIIT class to take place.

Despite thousands of people turning up to train with Wicks, he announced on his Instagram that sadly the record wasn’t broken. The Body Coach didn’t mention the official number of people who turned up on the day but we know it must have been less than 3,804 people (the current record which he achieved in London in 2017).

Dubai Fitness Challenge

Joe, who skydived into the event on Saturday, explained on his Instagram that the huge HIIT session was part of Dubai Fitness Challenge, the city’s mission to become the fittest in the world.

The challenge continues until 16th November and there are loads of ways to get involved in all the activities going on throughout the month long initiative. Download the Dubai Fitness Challenge app, here, to check out what’s going on near you.

There’s been all sorts so far, including marathons, yoga, swimming, cycling….even Fazza has been getting involved.

Meanwhile, Joe Wicks seems to be enjoying his time in Dubai and showing no signs of slowing down on the fitness. Earlier today he shared his early morning workout with views of the Burj Al Arab behind him.
