Abu Dhabi getting 700 new Hi-Tech speed cameras

Abu Dhabi Police are upping the ante by installing 700 new hi-tech speed cameras that can monitor several lanes at once.

The new Abu Dhabi cameras will be built with an integrated sharp camera and a multi-target tracking radar. Which is fancy language to say it’ll have eyes everywhere!

And judging by the size of them, it’s unlikely you’ll miss them on the roads!

Abu Dhabi has teamed up with two other firms to future-proof the roads in the region.

Impressively, the new hi-tech speed cameras will also be able to monitor the weather. So they could be used to warn of fog or dangerous driving conditions.

Abu Dhabi relaxes travel and visit restrictions

People visiting Abu Dhabi will no longer need to get tested for Coronavirus before they visit the UAE’s capital as they’ve relaxed restrictions.

The Abu Dhabi authorities announced the news comes into effect from today, Sunday September 19.

The decision has been made after Covid-19 cases dropped in Abu Dhabi. As of last week, just 0.2% of people were found to have coronavirus.

People previously visiting Abu Dhabi had to prove to police at the border they had a recent negative PCR test for Covid-19. This measure had been in place since July 2, 2020.
