Way to go, Abu Dhabi! The capital remains the safest city in the world with uber-low crime rates and a super-safe environment.
Abu Dhabi the safest city in the world
For three years in a row, Abu Dhabi retains the top spot as the safest city in the world. The capital has a crime rate of 10.61 and a safety index of 89.39. Doha came in a close second with a crime rate of 11.69 and a safety index of 88.31, following Quebec, Bursa, Taipei and Munich.
Abu Dhabi takes crime seriously. Recently, they unravelled one of UAE’s biggest crime busts, involving 423 kgs of drugs and half a million captagon pills.
Their police car fleet is one of the most advanced in the world. Some of their supercars include Chevrolet Camaro, a Rolls Royce Phantom and Lykan HyperSport (remember Furious 7?).
Dubai the sixth safest city
With a crime index of 16.66 and a safety
index of 83.34, Dubai stands at number six on the rankings. Other cities from
the Middle East, like Muscat, ranks 28th, followed by Manama at 32, Riyadh at
64 and Kuwait city at 225.
UAE ranks the safest country in the world
Last year’s national agenda index saw a score
of 96.1%, ranking UAE the safest country in the world. Lt General Dahi Khalfan
Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai, says “The UAE’s
policies and strategies were behind the achievement to make the country the
safest in the world.”
