Abu Dhabi travel ban extended for another week

It’s just been announced that the travel ban across Abu Dhabi due to the Coronavirus has been extended for the third week.

They have eased restrictions on travel between regions in the emirate however including between Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafrah.

The news was announced by the Abu Dhabi Media Office and will come into force tomorrow for another week.

National Screening Programme

The Abu Dhabi travel ban restrictions are part of the National Screening Programme to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. As well as travel restrictions which started on June 2, the region has upped their testing capability, with positive Coronavirus tests dropping to just 1% of the population.

Key workers and those with chronic healthcare needs are exempt. And you can apply for a travel permit here.

The news comes as Dubai prepares to welcome tourists back to the city from July 7.
