All World Cup Qatar 2022 fans must be vaccinated

Qatar has confirmed that every fan heading to the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar must be fully vaccinated.

So if you’re planning on heading to the World Cup next November (like millions of others we’d imagine) you’ll need to ensure you’re up to date with the jabs.

The news was confirmed by the HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani in a recent interview.

The move is intended to “protect the public health of citizens and residents”.

And Qatar will be doing their bit to help fans get the vaccine for the World Cup. If you haven’t been jabbed, they’re supplying one million doses to fans flying in for the games.

UAE World Cup fever

The month-long tournament kicks off in 516 days and will feature 32 teams from around the world.

The UAE are currently in the middle of their qualifying tournament. They’re through to the third and final round of qualification with the next round of matches starting in September and running until March next year.

Sadly, they’ve only qualified for the World Cup once in 1990 but did come close to qualifying for the 2018 edition.

Fingers crossed for next year!
