Walk into virtually any city around the world and you’ll find an Irish bar – but the latest Irish bar in Abu Dhabi is very, very different.
The Virgin Mary bar is completely alcohol-free.
The idea first took off in Dublin when The Virgin Mary bar launched in 2019, making it the first of its kind in Europe. And now Abu Dhabi is getting its own version.
The alcohol-free bar is coming to The Galleria Al Maryah Island this summer. And it will feature high-end gastro pub food and sophisticated mocktails. And zero perfectly poured pints of Guinness.
Then again, with Gen Z more interested in wellbeing and health than working their way through the bar, this could well be a masterstroke. And who doesn’t look forward to a world with no hangovers!
“TVM is at the forefront of a socialising revolution – we’re the world’s first alcohol-free bar group dedicated to inspiring people to ‘drink different’ says their website.
The bar also promises it will serve ‘food to complement our drinks menu and we are excited to be open for people to dine and ‘drink different’ all day.
The venue will join a host of other high-end outlets including Zuma, Coya, La Petite Maison, Bentley Kitchen, 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant, Butcher & Still, Loca, and Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor.
