Just when you thought the Mubadala World Tennis Championship couldn’t get any better, they’ve gone and announced British star Andy Murray.

The Olympic gold medallist is the last player to be confirmed for the 13th Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi.

And the three-time Grand Slam champion has a lot of history in Abu Dhabi having won the first Mubadala Championship 12 years ago. His opponent that day? None other than Spanish legend Rafael Nadal, who is also one of the player’s this year.

What are the odds of a titanic rematch?

If you’re new to the Mudabala format, here’s a quick rundown of what to expect.

They pull together eight of the world’s best tennis players including Andy Murray and Nadal while US Women’s champion Emma Radacanu takes on Olympic Gold Medallist Belinda Bencic.

The men then battle it out across three days until there’s just one winner, while the women face off in a winner-take-all duel.

The action takes place from December 16-18 and the 13th edition will once again be held in front of a capacity crowd. Which is brilliant news for the players and the fans!

Tickets for the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, starting from AED 100 for adults and AED 50 for children, are available from ticketmaster.ae and Virgin Megastores across the UAE. In line with current protocols, measures will be in place within the stadium and throughout the Tennis Village to ensure the health and safety of fans, players and officials.
