Austrian police fine man after ‘provocative’ fart

A man in Vienna, Austria has been given a €500 (AED2,000) fine after he was caught doing a loud fart in front of a police officer.

The man had apparently behaved provocatively and refused to fully cooperate with the authorities during the incident. We’d also add that his behaviour clearly stinks.

But it was when he stood up from a park bench and “let go a massive intestinal wind apparently with full intent” that police decided to take action and fine the man for his fart. The man was officially cautioned for ‘offending public decency.’

It all sounds like a lot of hot air to us, but the news was first broken by The Guardian earlier this week.

The Austrian Police force defended the decision when questioned whether this was a good use of police time. But they did tell reporters that the decision could be appealed against.

The man didn’t tell us which side of American politics he supported, but we’d predict he’s probably a Trump supporter.
