Middle East Film & Comic-Con (MEFCC) is quickly approaching with four days remaining, and they’ve announced Benedict Wong as part of the line-up.
Benedict Wong joins MEFCC
Some may know him as Doctor Strange’s sidekick in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, while some may know him as Kublai Khan from Netflix’s hit TV show ‘Marco Polo’ and some may recall him as Bruce Ng from ‘The Martian,’ that’s how expansive his filmography is. In fact, the 47-year-old is confirmed to star in the highly-anticipated Avengers: Endgame.
Mike Colter backs out due to shooting schedule
‘Luke Cage’ star Mike Colter was announced among MEFCC’s first wave of headliners earlier this year. However, his visit was cancelled at the last minute due to his shooting schedule. In a video message, he said “I know I was supposed to come out to see you in Dubai and I’m so sorry that I am not going to be able to come out to see you this year. I was so looking forward to coming back down to that side of the world again and seeing Dubai for the first time.”
“I’m sorry, it’s kind of last minute obviously, but I promise you, if you have me out there next year, I will be there, please forgive me. I am out here shooting something that I hope you guys are going to enjoy it.”
Plethora of pop culture actors and artists
All in all, there’s still a lot to look forward to during the pop culture extravaganza. This edition is headlined by ‘The Walking Dead’ star Ross Marquand, Katie Cassidy from ‘Arrow’ and ‘Supernatural,’ ‘Game of Thrones’ alum Iwan Rheon, ‘Batgirl’ voice actor Tara Strong and the Shazam! superstar, Zachary Levi.
MEFCC begins this Thursday, 11th-Saturday, 13th April. Tickets are priced from Dhs 115.
