Part of the Bollywood film series ‘Race’, the third installment will be shot across various landmarks in Abu Dhabi for the next month and a half.
Salman Khan will play the lead role.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will play the lead role of Sikander, described as ‘Selfless over selfish’ along with actors Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Saqib Saleem and actress Jacqueline Fernandez. The actor posted a teaser of his character on his Twitter, dressed in black formal clothes with a gun in his right hand.
Abu Dhabi has been a film shooting location for numerous feature films.
Major Hollywood and Bollywood films have been shot in the capital city, including the likes of Hollywood films ‘The Bourne Legacy'(2012), Fast and Furious 7 (2015) and ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ (2015). Whereas, Abu Dhabi was one the shooting locations for Bollywood films like Bang Bang(2014), ‘Baby'(2015) and ‘Dishoom'(2016). Fun fact, the end of the first ‘Race’ movie was shot on Jabel Hafeet in Al Ain.
The ‘Race’ franchise has earned more than Rs2 billion.
Both the films from the series have earned Rs1 billion each. The first film earned Rs1.06 billion, the fourth highest grossing film in 2008. Whereas, the sequel earned Rs1.62 billion, the eighth highest grossing film in 2013. Undoubtedly, the flamboyant cars and clothing were worth it.
Race 3 shooting has begun and is scheduled to release this Eid-Al-Fitr.
