People around the Dubai Marina area were taken by shock when they witnessed the high rise Zen Tower caught fire this morning.
No injuries have been reported
From a statement by the Dubai Media Office, residents and people at the tower were evacuated safely there hasn’t been any injuries. The fire drew crowds around the building who took to social media to post photographs and videos about the building and its surroundings.
Fire has been put out
Dubai Civil Defense was quick to reach the building and put out the fire. They too confirmed that there haven’t been any injuries reported, according to a post on their Instagram, which reads “The rescue and firefighting teams begin the evacuation of the building and there are no reports of any injuries recorded for now.”
Electrical faults and tossing cigarette butts are the main causes for fires
Earlier this year, Khaleej Times reported a minor fire near Al Habtoor hotel in Dubai Marina caused by tossing a cigarette to a plant pot. The Dubai Civil Defence team reached the location “within minutes” and put out the fire. There have been past cases of yachts and buildings around the area and according to Gulf News, areas like Karama, Al Quoz and Satwa are areas with the highest fire incidents.
