A bungling suspect has been charged with burglary by Sharjah Police, claiming he wasn’t responsible for the theft, he visited the flat to repair its windows.
Flat owner was on vacation
According to Khaleej Times, the flat owner was on vacation last September when the suspected burglary took place. Upon his arrival, he realized his flat’s main door was damaged, alongside multiple windows and kitchen cabinets inside. A police investigation helped them identify the suspect by a fingerprints search and eventually caught him.
Burglar claims he entered flat to make repairs
Identified as an Arab man in his 30s, the suspect refused charges, claiming he only visited the flat to make repairs on the damaged doors and cabinets. Interestingly, he says the flat was occupied by a maid and children at the time he entered. To which, the complainant denies having any maid or children.
Court adjourned to next month
As of now, the court has been adjourned to next month for judgement. When questioned, the complainant claims he’s never met the suspect before. The search is also on for the maid and children who lived in the flat while the complainant was out of town.
