Good news for the future film directors, music makers and game developers as the market for creatives in Dubai is set to double in the next five years according to HH Sheikh Mohammad.
Earlier this year he launched a program that would make Dubai the ‘global capital of the creative economy.’
“We aim to increase the number of creative firms from 8,000 to 15,000 in Dubai and creative professionals from 70,000 to 150,000 within the next 5 years,” said Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
Alongside that, the mobile gaming industry is set to explode in the Middle East, with an audience of 100 million generating revenue of $4.4 billion by 2022.
And Abu Dhabi has joined the creative gold rush as well by spending AED30 billion on culture and the creative industries in the emirate.
