We know 2020 hasn’t been short of big headlines, but this might be our favourite as a Camel Beauty competition is coming back to the UAE.
The UAE camel beauty competition is part of the 14th Al Dhafra Festival which is taking place later this year.
The beauty doesn’t just stop at camels though. C’mon, this is 2020!
You can also get involved with falcon and goat beauty contests.
All the camel/goat/falcon-fancying action takes place at Madinat Zayed in Al Dhafrah. The festival runs from November 5 until the end of January 2021.
Under the patronage of Mohamed bin Zayed, the 14th edition of Al Dhafra Festival will be held from 5 Nov 2020 to 29 Jan 2021 at Madinat Zayed in Al Dhafrah, with precautionary and preventative measures implemented by the Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee pic.twitter.com/C2d41V8GXr
Which means all the beautiful UAE camels plenty of time to do whatever it is UAE camels do to look beautiful. One thing they won’t need is fake eyelashes. Maybe a bit of tooth brushing wouldn’t go amiss though.
Staying in the animal kingdom, Dubai Safari Park is to re-open this October after closing more than two years ago. The park will officially re-open on Monday, October 5.
The park covers 119 hectares – which is the equivalent of 150 football pitches.
Dubai Safari Park is home to over 3,000 animals and is split into several sections. The Asian Village features tigers, gibbons and moon bears while the Arabian Village houses wolves, gazelles and oryx. The African Village is where you’ll find big game animals including lions and giraffes.
