Celebrating UAE-China Week, Here’s What All Happened Across UAE

Following the landmark visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to UAE, this week was announced as the UAE-China week, celebrating the bilateral relations the two countries enjoyed and there were plenty of stints that Happened to honour China.

Telecom networks welcomed Xi Jinping

Marking the Chinese President’s visit, mobile phone users noticed a change in their phones showing ‘WelcomePresChina’, both by Du and Etisalat. The last time they changed their network names was on June 4th to honour UAE’s founding father, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on ‘Zayed Humanitarian Day’.

Sheikh Mohammed tweeted in Mandarin

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE’s Prime Minister and Vice President took tweeted a series of tweets about the high-level meeting with Xi Jinping and Chinese ministers. His most recent tweet reads “We have benefited greatly from China’s development experience, and I have also read the work of Chinese President Xi Jinping on governing governance, which deals with the functions of the Government for the well-being of the people, the importance of young people, the belief in soft power in innovation and technology, and their impact on the future. We are almost alike in the philosophy and methods of national management. They are also closest to us.”

Several landmarks in Dubai were lit in the Chinese flag

Part of the celebrations during this UAE-China Week, three popular landmarks in Dubai displayed China’s flag on its facade: Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab and Dubai Frame. The UAE-China week is going on from 17th-24th July and Burj Khalifa will be celebrating this historic week shows happening daily at 7:05 pm and at 8:05 pm.

Abu Dhabi released a special license in Mandarin

For the first time, a UAE driver’s license has been issued in another language. Abu Dhabi Police issued a driver’s license in Mandarin as a special gesture to celebrate the UAE-China week. Abu Dhabi police went on to post a series of videos honouring China and bilateral relations both the countries have enjoyed.
