Recall the bue alien-looking villain from the Guardians of the Galaxy films? Her character, Nebula, played by Karen Gillan will be at this year’s Comic Con. Gillan is also known for playing the role of Amy Pond in TV series Doctor Who and for playing the role of Ruby Roundhouse in the recently released Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Whereas, science fiction genre fans can stand a chance to meet Karl Urban, best known for his role as Leonard McCoy or the rather impatient Bones. He also starred in both The Lord of the Rings and Jason Bourne film series.
Win big at Marvel’s Cosplay Contest.
Partnered with Marvel in celebration of ten years since its cinematic universe commenced, MEFCC is giving a chance to one lucky winner a cash price of $3,000(dhs 11,019). However, keep in mind
that one can participate cosplaying for a superhero part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe only. There will be prizes for second and third place too. Besides, MEFCC has five more cosplay competitions happenning, including group costumes, kids cosplay, best comic book or movie character and best anime character.
Bring your A game to Comic Con’s vlogging contest.
If vlogging interests you, then you could win a chance to become MEFCC’s brand ambassador. All you have to do is register yourself and if shortlisted, you’ll get the SuperFan pass, which means you can meet the headliners and access the biggest events throughout the day. At the end, one Arabic speaking and one English speaking vlogger will win and become MEFCC’s brand ambassador.
Cherish iconic film moments at the Cineclub.
Partnered with Roxy Cinemas, they’re hosting film screenings and even more. Movie buffs can attend panel sessions from the comics and film industry as well as interact with celebrities during Q&A sessions. Although the schedules aren’t out, Roxy Cinemas will be screening ‘classic genre films’.

More than 400 exhibitors will have their products displayed at stalls and kiosks throughout the exhibition. There will be a range of film and comic related products including custom made accessories, character themed toys, illustrations, games, T shirts and rare collectables. There’s a lot more to this list.
