Coronavirus UAE update: which events have been cancelled

With the Coronavirus starting to have a real impact on events in the UAE, we’ve pulled together a comprehensive list of events that have been cancelled, postponed or are still currently on.

Events cancelled or postponed in the UAE

The Dubai International Boat Show was due to start on March 10, but it’s now been postponed until November 2020 when it will coincide with Expo 2020.

Ultra Abu Dhabi is another victim to the Coronavirus. The huge two-day festival was due to take place on Yas Island this coming weekend, but organisers have cancelled it.

The DJ Mag Conference is also cancelled due to the Coronavirus. The two-day festival was set to start today on March 3, but with their location in shutdown due to the Coronavirus, they’ve also had to cancel.

Dubai Government Games is another event that’s been cancelled. The event was scheduled to take place from March 18 to 21 on Kite Beach near Burj Al Arab.

The AKS Colour Carnival due to take place in Dubai Sport City on Friday has also been cancelled.

Taste of Dubai has been postponed until December. The three-day food and drink festival was due to be held from March 12-14.

Art Dubai was due to take place from March 25-28, but has now been officially postponed.

Club Social 2020 in Abu Dhabi has also been affected. The three-day festival on Yas Island was due to feature Liam Gallagher, Clean Bandit and Kaiser Chiefs. It’s now been postponed until later in the year.

K-Pop’s Music Bank event at the Coca-Cola Arena on March 21 is another event that has been cancelled.

The Madness concert at The Irish Village has beenpostponed until Thursday November 12.

Events still on

Great news for those who have got their costumes already prepared for the weekend as Comic Con Dubai is still planning to go ahead.

The Clorox Holi Beach Party in Jebel Ali on Friday, March 13 is also still going ahead.
