If you didn’t know, Cucumber Day is honestly a thing. And it’s back in the UAE on Saturday, October 17. But this year it’s even bigger and better as they’ve extended Cucumber Day for an entire month.
The green vegetable will be celebrated in over 30 bars across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. And there’s even a four-course cucumber fine-dining menu at the Bellavista restaurant in the Grosvenor House. We sincerely hope one of the courses is cucumber and hummus dip.
If you’re a little confused, we can shed a bit of light on Cucumber Day.
It’s actually brought to you by Hendricks Gin which is traditionally drunk with a slice of cucumber in it. And each of the 30 bars and restuarants taking part in Cucumber Day will celebrate with AED40 bespoke gin cocktails. And, with some of our favourite bars taking part including Cove Beach, Soho Garden and Treehouse, we’ll definitely be going green for Cucumber Day.
Staying in the events and party world, Breakout DXB is a brand new music, art and culture event taking place in Dubai on November 6. And will be the first large scale event in the city for months.
And we can’t tell you how good it is to write those words for DubaiLAD! A real music festival and event with live music and DJs running for 12 hours. Happy days!
Breakout DXB takes part at the Rove Downtown Hotel on Friday November 6. It will take place across several stages including outdoor and indoor stages and it features some of the region’s best talent.
Perhaps our favourite act on the bill is Hamdan Al Abri, surely the UAE’s most talented singer and performer. Also, make sure to check out shows from Layla Kardan and Middle East hip hop ambassador Big Hass. Plus two of the city’s best DJs are represented in Lobito Brigante, a brilliant turntablist and funk/soul/hip hop brother and Charl Chaka, one of the biggest names in the scene.
