It appears Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is progressing well with his ankle injury, after a brief bit of rest and recovery in Dubai this week.
In the midst of a Europa League game against Sporting Lisbon last November, Danny Welbeck sustained a serious injury jumping for a header and landing on his right ankle. The 28-year-old forward was stretchered off midway during the first half of the match. Since then, he underwent two operations and went through rehab.
In the process of recovery, Welbeck made a visit to Dubai this week. The Arsenal striker took to Twitter to share images of him relaxing by the beach, conducting a training camp and working out at a gym in his hotel, Arabian Courtyard Hotel & Spa. He said, “Nice few days in Dubai… Batteries recharged. Time to step it up! Let’s get it.”
Danny Welbeck returning to Arsenal training camp
Even though it’s uncertain about Welbeck’s comeback for the Gunners this season, he’s’ getting back in action at Arsenal’s training camp soon. Speaking to Sport360, he said, “It’s nice to have a break and get some good weather. I’m doing a bit of training out here but hopefully, when I get back to London Colney I can kick on a bit more. I’m looking forward to it.”
