Sunday, 14th April: ‘Dumb & Dumber’ screening at Zero Gravity
If you like your comedies simple, silly, and more than willing to be stupid, then ‘Dumb & Dumber’ has got to be on top of your list. The film trails the humorous journey of two pals, Lloyd and Harry as they embark on a road trip to find Harry’s illegitimate son. Screening begins at 8 pm and tickets cost Dhs 50.
Monday, 15th April: Davido live at Toy Room Dubai
Ever since Davido burst on the scene at the turn of this decade, there’s been no looking back. The Nigerian pop star’s debut song, “Dami Duro” was a big hit in the charts, and won the ‘Hottest Single of the Year’ at the 2012 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. His discography has gone strength to strength since then, dropping hits like “2:AM,” “Fall,” “Coolest Kid In Africa” and “Flora My Flawa.” For reservations, call 052 463 3338.
Tuesday, 16th April: Equal ladies (and lad’s night) at Asia De Cuba
Looking to head out this week without spending much? Then grab yo’ pals and head down to Asia De Cuba. They’re offering free bevvies to lads from 7-9 pm, and free bevvies to ladettes from 7 pm till close. Also, the Chino-Latino spot offers a 50% off on the entire menu. Wednesday, 17th April: Soho Social
Soho Garden’s weekly urban-themed night, Soho Social plays host to local talents Adam Graca & DJ Neil T on Wednesday, playing R&B and hip-hop beats. Thursday, 18th April: Peter Andre live at Zero Gravity
It’s been 25 years since Peter Andre stormed into the mainstream charts and his songs still remain a favourite amongst 90’s pop fans. The English-Australian is the singer behind chart-topping hits like “I Feel You,” “Flava,” “Funky Junky,” “Gimme Little Sign” and the iconic summer-hit, “Mysterious Girl,” which peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. Friday, 19th April: Groove On The Grass
UAE’s homegrown EDM festival, Groove On The Grass is hosting one final show before the end of its seventh season, and they’re ending on a high note. The final edition will be headlined by East London’s drum and bass giants Rudimental, the band behind hits like “Lay It All On Me” and “These Days,” and electronica legends 808 State, who’s extensive music gallery boasts hits like “Pacific State,” “In Yer Face,” “Flow Coma’ and “The Only Rhyme That Bites.” Tickets are priced from Dhs 195.
Saturday, 20th April: City Overdrive at City Walk
It’s no secret that Dubai has an epic car culture, and the fifth edition of City Overdrive is hosting some of the hottest modified cars in the city. The line-up includes a convoy of themed Mini Coopers, legendary German exotics, extensively modified SUVs and a replica of iconic Japanese cars from the Fast & Furious franchise.
