About: It’s going to be ‘Virtual Insanity’ at the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival this Thursday when retro-funk legends Jamiroquai take the stage. Most may remember Jay Kay and his band for their slew of acid jazz hits in the late ‘90s, like “Cosmic Girl,” “Space Cowboy,” “Virtual Insanity” and “Seven Days In Sunny June.” The band made a comeback on the scene with the release of album ‘Automaton’ in 2017, shifting their music style to more of EDM and trap music. Joris Voorn live

About: Amsterdam has been a hotbed of deep house and techno for decades, and Joris Voorn emerged from the scene for his sparse beats and distinctive tunes. The 41-year-old DJ started off with gigs in Amsterdam’s clubbing scene and his popularity surged in the turn of this decade, with high profile gigs in Ibiza superclubs Pacha, Sensation and Space. Alicia Keys live

The 37-year-old artist is one of the world’s prominent figures in soul and a legend of the craft by any possible metric, with 15 Grammy awards to her name. Michael Calfan live

The French DJ started off as a heavy dance floor DJ until he made a transition to the rising soul house genre. Fusing his previous mixing styles with new rich sounds, partygoers can soak into a whole new emerging music genre.

Anjunadeep 10 release party

Where: The Penthouse at Five The Palm

About: True deep house connoisseurs will know how far Anjunadeep has come to establish itself as one of the dance music world’s most respected imprints. The London-based label produced some of the finest deep melodic house and emotive electronica tunes and to mark the release of Anjunadeep 10, they’re returning to Dubai for a takeover at The Penthouse, with live sets by label boss James Grant playing alongside Dutch label legend 16BL and Dom Donnelly.
