D’oh! Reporter accidentally turns on Facebook filter during weather broadcast

A US weather reporter had no idea – literally none – that he’d turned on his Facebook filter during his live report making him look like a spaceman and a cat.

North Carolina news reporter Justin Hinton assumed his live one minute weather broadcast on the snowy conditions in the region had gone as planned.

It was only when the reporter went back to the camera to see the live feed, that he noticed viewers asking about his weird face and the Facebook filter.

Just before going live, the reporter had activated Facebook’s face filter. Which meant that as he told viewers of school closures and weather warnings, he went through a series of faces.

Including wearing a space helmet, turning into a cat and then a wizard and our favourite, with a space visor strapped to his face.

The full video was posted to the WLOS ABC 13 Facebook page and also shows the point where he realises just what has happened!

Justin was quick to embrace the mistake.

“I didn’t realize it until I stepped off-camera and saw the comments where people were talking about the faces. My bosses, coworkers, friends, PIOs and more called/texted saying how funny it was, so here you go.

“If you can’t laugh at yourself, what’s the point of laughter? I hope you enjoyed the snow day, and remember to smile and laugh!”
