Donald Trump Plans To Attend UFC 244 This Saturday

US President Donald Trump is reportedly planning to attend UFC 244 this Saturday. The controversial politician is set to watch the hotly anticipated welterweight title clash between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz in New York City this Saturday, 2nd November.

Donald Trump expected to attend UFC 244

A White House Correspondent revealed the President is scheduled to attend the fight night on Saturday, taking place at NYC’s Madison Square Garden.

Trump’s a huge supporter of UFC

UFC and Donald Trump share a special relationship. At a time when events were held in small cities like Tulsa and St. Louis, Trump welcomed the organization to host two fights, UFC 30 and UFC 31 at his Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City way back in 2001. His support at the time no doubt helped UFC to reach greater heights at venues in Las Vegas and across the world.

UFC President Dana White is a supporter of Trump too. Here’s what he once said about him:

“The Trump Taj Mahal was the only venue that would take us and accept us at the time. [Trump] saw this thing before anybody else did. A lot of people want to jump in after and everybody tries to throw money at it … but this guy saw it before anybody did.”

Headline fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz at UFC 244

We’re just days away from UFC 244 and the build-up to the event has been massive, with 10,000 tickets sold on the first day and a parade of fans set to fill up the seats at Madison Square Garden. The fight night will witness the wildly anticipated welterweight title clash between seasoned veterans Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz.

Masvidal boasts an extensive record of 34 fights and 13 losses, ranking number three in the welterweight category, while Diaz has a record of 21 fights and 11 losses. There’s a great deal of hype surrounding his return to UFC, making a comeback after three years and defeating Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 last August. They’ll be fighting for the ‘BMF’ title.

Dwayne Johnson to put the ‘BMF’ belt on the winner

Unlike the tradition of UFC President Dana White putting the belt on the winner, Dwayne Johnson is confirmed to present the $50,000 (AED190k) BMF belt on the winner.
