The Consumer Cooperative at Etihad Mall in Mirdif has become the first shop to offer a drive-thru shopping service.
In total, shoppers can pick from 130 different items and never have to leave the car. Shoppers can park up at a designated space where staff will take their order and payment.
Now, this is officially a thing in the UAE, we can’t see it ever going away. If there are two things people love in this country it’s shopping and cars. And this combines the two with a minimum of effort. Who knew drive-thru shopping would be the highlight of 2020!
“Based on the latest developments in retail across the world, Union Coop decided to implement this exceptional new idea to increase the options for consumers,” said Khalid Al Falasi, chief executive of Union Coop.
Want more proof that the Coronavirus is having a very real effect on life in the UAE? Drive-thru options are popping up everywhere.
Mall of the Emirates launched the first drive-thru cinema in Dubai last week, and Sharjah is launching their own at the start of July.
