When things sound too good to be true, they usually are! But not for 27-year-old Dubai DJ, Brendan Lopez who just won a private island!
The win of a lifetime
Lopez entered the competition run by Liv, the digital lifestyle version of Emirates NBD Bank and has walked away with a 6 acre island.

It gets even better
Not only does Lopez walk away with an island of his own, his name is also on a cheque to the value of Dhs 100,000! The “Win A Private Island” competition run by Liv seemed dreamlike but Brendan Lopez is the lucky recipient of the island in Canada. So he walks away with not just land, an actual landmass and nice fat cheque to go with it. Lucky guy…..
Win A Private Island competition
The competition kicked off back in April this year. To qualify, participants had to be regular users of Liv’s mobile banking app earning loyalty points.

The top 20 were then entered into a final competition round, whereby the ultimate winner was selected.
Hollpoint Island
Brendan Lopez is now the owner of Hollpoint Island, which is around the size of 5 football pitches. The 2.42-hectare piece of land is situated in the eastern Canadian province of Nova Scotia. The area is surrounded by natural beaches and situated close to a small fishing village.
The actual value of the island is not known, but according to reports, similar islands in the area were recently on the market and sold for about Dhs 200,000 and more!
Wow! Imagine winning an island… But how would you go about just leaving your everyday life and heading off into the sunset? Actually, that doesn’t sound too bad, after all!
