Seating capacity of 17,000 people at Dubai Arena
Meraas Holding, the team behind Dubai Arena, unveiled its features yesterday. The ambitious project boasts a seating capacity of up to 17,000 people, a complex roof structure that weighs 4,000 tonnes- an equivalent of seven A380 airplanes and is supported by huge trusses, spanning the entire length of the venue. Gigantic arena for sporting events, concerts and festivals
Dubai Arena has been designed to host an array of events, including concerts, live shows, conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners, theatre performances, festivals, indoor sports such as tennis, basketball, boxing, volleyball and ice hockey. The Meraas team promises a revolutionary experience for event-goers in the country.
Dubai Arena works underway
Most of the project is complete, including the façade. The project is on its final phase now, with final touches being made to the first of the 46 hospitality suites. Speaking about the arena as a hub for events, His Excellency Abdulla Al Habbai, Group Chairman at Meraas, said “We are confident that Dubai Arena will position the city on the international entertainment touring circuit and the audiences will have the opportunity to witness the world’s most talented performers and sporting events in the heart of Dubai.”
