Dubai Police will be the first in the region to use new ‘smart glasses’ that will automatically scan commuter temperatures to combat the Coronavirus.
The smart glasses will be used by the Department of Transportation Security of Dubai Police. And the transport police will use them to scan passengers and commuters at public stops.
The glasses can scan up to 100 passengers a minute and will register when an above-average temperature is detected.
The AI ‘Rokid T1‘ glasses have been used in China in the last few months with impressive results.
The glasses work from a distance of 2m and can also identify faces and send reports directly to Police Headquarters.
The UAE has been quick to jump on new technology to help combat the spread of Coronavirus. They’ve also been using these smart helmets to identify those with higher temperatures.
