Dubai releases new guidelines on wearing masks

We’ve all quickly got used to wearing masks in 2020, but the Dubai government have now updated when and where you need to wear your face mask.

The new guidelines state several new rules for when you can take your masks off in Dubai. These include…

Driving alone or with your family
Briefly while eating and drinking
When you’re taking part in ‘vigorous exercise

Face mask exemptions

As well as the new guidelines regarding when you need to wear a mask, the Dubai Government has also revealed some exemptions.

Children under the age of six.

People of determination with cognitive, intellectual or sensory disorders or any impairments that hamper their ability to breathe or communicate. Plus those for whom masks can lead to sensory triggering.

Those who need oxygen or have severe respiratory conditions, who cannot breathe safely or have difficulty breathing with a mask, are also not required to wear a face mask.

Both of the last 2 exemptions should be confirmed by a medical report.
