Dubai Ride returns to Sheikh Zayed Road

Pedal power is once again taking over Sheikh Zayed Road as Dubai Ride returns this November as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.

Dubai Ride was a huge hit when it was launched last year. And the 14km route is once again taking in some of Dubai’s most incredible sites. Including a bike ride along Sheikh Zayed Road!

The Dubai Ride route takes in Safa Park, the iconic Museum of the Future, Emirates Towers and Downtown Dubai.

More than 20,000 people took part last year as Sheikh Zayed Road was turned into a road-rage free zone. And they’re hoping to build on those numbers this year.

And there’s also a 4km family route that takes place around Burj Khalifa.

Ahmed Alkhaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said, “Last year, we made history when H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, led the cyclists onto Sheikh Zayed Road for the very first time. Not only is Dubai Ride a fun event for the whole family, it also allows us to take advantage of our great weather and embrace a more active, outdoor lifestyle. I look forward to seeing the spectacle of thousands of cyclists on 5th November, and helping to make Dubai an even happier, healthier city.”

Be warned though: this is a bike ride for the early birds! The course opens at 5.30 am and cyclists need to be finished by 7.30 am to re-open for traffic. There will be Ride Ambassadors to help you on the course at all points.

Dubai Ride takes place on November 5 and is open to adults and children over 10.
