Dubai RTA launches photography competition with AED45,000 prize

The RTA in Dubai has launched a photography competition with a prize fund of AED45,000 to help promote public transport in the city.

There are three briefs for snappers to work too.

The first theme is ‘Art & Architecture’ which the RTA hopes will capture the ‘beauty of landmarks, infrastructure, splendid sites, street art, illustration and facilities across Dubai.’

The second brief is ‘Public transport’ which covers the metro, tram, ferry, Abra, taxis and buses.

And the third brief is ‘Emirati Culture and Lifestyle’ which covers places, events, local culture, Emirati spirit and national flavour.

So right now we’re thinking an early morning shot of a Dubai taxi driver infront of the Burj Khalifa picking up an Emirati passenger. Factor in some early morning fog, some flare lenses and that’s a sure-fire winner!

The RTA photography competition is running in collaboration with the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA).

The competition starts on June 27 and runs for three weeks.

Entrants will need to submit their photos here. And each entrant is asked to submit one photo for each brief.

Good luck!
