Dubai is set to break another world record when the world’s largest fountain open on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah later this month.
The Pointe’s Palm Fountains open on October 22nd and claim to be the world’s tallest fountain. At their peak, the fountains will shoot water more than 100m into the air. And yes, they’ll be even larger than the Dubai Mall fountains, which were previously the biggest.
The Pointe is gearing up to launch ‘The Palm Fountain’, the world’s largest fountain. The fountain will attempt to break a Guinness World Records™ (GWR) title on Thursday, 22 October during its inaugural launch event, and the public is invited to witness the celebration. pic.twitter.com/rJpSPNfdPX

The fountain show will run from 7 pm every 30 minutes. And each 20-minute show will be set to a spectacular LED light and sound show.
The team behind the fountain will officially try to break the record on their launch night.
The fountains are located at the far end of the Palm Jumeirah trunk and overlook the Atlantis. You can see the fountains from The Pointe’s walkways or from one of the restaurants overlooking them.
As you’d imagine, the launch night will be a big event with live entertainment, fireworks and free LED wristbands.
If you want to secure your spot, you can register for the event here. The event runs from 4 pm until midnight.
Apple update with Arabi emoji
Apple has updated its range of emojis and now features the popular Arab gesture which means ‘wait’ or ‘be patient.’ It can also mean be quiet or to calm down. There’s not a day that it’s not used in the DubaiLAD office tbh.
Which will be great news for Arab parents across the world who undoubtedly use the gesture the most!
The updated Apple emojis features on the latest iOS 14.2 updates.
