The first Miss Universe contest has been confirmed in Dubai this November and is open to all UAE female residents between 18 and 28-years-old.
The competition will take place at La Perle, Al Habtoor City on November 7. And all entrants must have more than three years of UAE residency.
The organisers are also keen to show this is not a beauty parade. And there won’t be a swimsuit round as in previous editions across the world.
“Miss Universe UAE is not just a parade of beauty or celebration of intelligence but moreover she is a paragon of a purposeful queen and a heart to serve and help through her advocacies,” says Josh Yugen, national director of Miss Universe UAE.
If you are interested, you can apply here with 30 women making it through to the live show in November.
The three-hour event will include a personal statement, an interview and several fashion rounds.
The winner will represent the UAE on a global stage at the Miss Universe contest which this year will be held in Israel.
In total, there are four global beauty pageants. Miss World, Miss International, Miss Earth and Miss Universe.
The first Miss Universe Pageant was held in California in 1952 and was won by Finnish lady Armi Kuusela.
The current Miss Universe is Andrea Meza of Mexico who was crowned earlier this year.
