Exhibiting artworks across Downtown, the new initiative by Emaar has taken people in Dubai by surprise by displaying a large floating object at the Dubai Mall waterfront.
Time is being represented by the large object
Created by renowned sculptor and artist Janet Echelman, the object is a representation of time titled ‘1.78’, the exact number by which a day’s time was reduced after an earthquake struck eight years ago. Her artwork has been displayed in cities like Madrid and Beijing,
Part of ‘Art Emaar’ initiative, they’ve come up with projects like ‘Wave-Field, ‘100 colours’, ‘Skyward’ and many such projects on display across Downtown. Inside Dubai Mall, they had artworks like ‘Museum of the Moon’, ‘Plexus A21’ and ‘Skyward on display. The most recent was ‘Skyward’, it was made of 20,000 balloons designed into spirals.
