With news hitting that Eminem is headed for Abu Dhabi on 25 October at du Arena, Yas Island bringing his Kamikaze tour, we can’t help but be excited!
We’re amped and ready to hear what Slim Shady has up his sleeve. So we are taking it upon ourselves to give you five solid reasons as to why you should be heading to his concert.
1. To hear his lyrical genius
Sure, some verses are controversial, but a lot of his lyrical genius from tracks like “Stan,” “Lose Yourself,” “Without Me” and “Sing For The Moment,” to name a few changed the rap game. Not every rapper can flaunt a flexible flow or rhythmic wordplay of Em’s calibre. Here are some of our top picks of his best lines:
“I just can’t sit back and wallow, in my own sorrow, but I know one fact: I’ll be one tough act to follow.”
Eminem in “Beautiful”
“In my mind I’m a fighter, my heart’s a lighter, my soul is the fluid. My flow sparks it right up.”
Eminem in “No Apologies”
“Nobody knows me I’m cold, walk down this road all alone. It’s no one’s fault but my own, it’s the path I’ve chosen to go.”
Eminem in “Spacebound”
“Dealing with backstabbers, there was one thing I learned. They’re only powerful when you got your back turned.”
Eminem in “Backstabbers”
2. One of the best-selling rappers of all time
It may seem like yesterday for some Eminem fans when he dropped smash hits like “My Name Is,” “The Real Slim Shady” and “Without Me,” but it’s been more than two decades since the 46-year-old burst on to the rap scene.
Having sold 42 million tracks and 49.1 million albums in the United States alone, and 100 million copies worldwide, Marshall Mathers is the highest-selling solo rapper of all time.
Chances of a surprise appearance at the
concert (fingers crossed!)
Hey hey hey, we can’t confirm who else is going to be at the concert but one can only hope! Over the years, we’ve seen Marshall bring out some famous pals like 50 Cent, Royce Da 5’9 and Dr Dre.
3. Performing fresh off the success of Kamikaze
Slim couldn’t have asked for a better comeback last year, with the chart-smashing success of his tenth album, ‘Kamikaze.’ Expect the crowds to go ‘Berzerk’ when he performs hits like “Ringer,” “Fall,” “Not Alike,” “Venom” and the titular track.
Here’s hoping Em also unleashes the infamous 11-minute freestyle rap he did last year, as well as the savage diss track, ‘Killshot.’
4. A trip down the memory lane
The Abu Dhabi fixture is an unmissable one if you grew up listening to the “Rap God”. We can predict there’s going to be an electrifying ambience radiating energy hundreds of yards from the stage, while Em performs all of his iconic hits.
