Energetic As Ever: A Round Up of the Dubai Jazz Festival

The 16th Emirates Airlines Dubai Jazz Festival hosted some of the biggest musical sensations and we take a look at the best moments:

John Legend’s encore performance of All of Me

Although Legend performed beyond two hours including hits like Love Me Now and Like I’m Gonna Lose You, he left the audience wanting for more after introducing his band members and himself. One minute after his band members left the stage and the lights were turned off, Legend returned back to his keyboard and stunned the crowd with playing the start of All of Me, which was backed with massive cheer from the crowd.

Ricky Martin’s Latin fusion made everyone loca

Neither did Ricky Martin’s ’90s track fade away, nor did his energy. The Latin icon admitted he didn’t want to leave the stage as performed all of his famous songs, notably Maria, Shake Your Bon Bon and Livin’ La Vida Loca. After thanking everyone for making it a memorable night for him as performed in Dubai for the first time, he left the stage, making the crowd assume his concert was over. It was only a couple of minutes later he returned to perform The Cup of Life and thanked his fans again.

In addition, the Dubai Jazz Festival also gave an opportunity to one band and two artists to open for the headliners. The Renegade Brass Band opened for Duran Duran. China Moses opened for John Legend whilst Vera Ciocca opened for Ricky Martin.
