Expo 2020 Dubai shares amazing time-lapse video

With excitement building ahead of Expo 2020 Dubai starting on October 1, the team behind it have released an amazing time-lapse video.

The 40-second video shows just how much work has gone into creating and building Expo 2020 Dubai.

The video starts by showing a huge stretch of empty sand lands next to Al Maktoum International Airport which slowly – but incredibly – turns into Expo 2020 Dubai.

Check out the video below.

The video also shows the three main Expo 2020 pavilions themed around opportunity, mobility and sustainability get built.

It’s all hugely impressive, none more so than the Al Wasl Dome, which is the world’s largest 360-degree projection screen.

The massive structure can be seen in the video and used 13.6 kilometres of steel to make. It weighs 2,544 tonnes (that’s the same as 25 blue whales) and is 130 metres wide.

Expo 2020 Dubai kicks off in just four days.

Expo 2020 Dubai launches official song “This Is Our Time”

The Expo has also launched its official song called ‘This Is Our Time’ featuring some of the country’s biggest and best talent.

The official Expo 2020 Dubai song features Hussain Al Jassmi, Mayssa Karaa and Almas. All three are hugely talented artists and even better, two of them are UAE artists which is a brilliant advert for the country.

Hussain Al Jassmi is one of the UAE’s biggest artists and Expo 2020 Ambassador.

He’s joined in the video by 21-year-old Emirati singer-songwriter Almas who was recently named Spotify’s Best Female Talent in the Middle East.

And they’re completed by Lebanese-American Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Mayssa Karaa who is also Artistic Director of Expo’s all-female Firdaus Orchestra.
