We love a good supercar at Dubailad. People love gawping at supercars in Dubai and even the police love their supercars in Dubai. So imagine the excited noises we made when we found out that legendary carmaker W Motors had set up home in Dubai.
Need for speed
Fast and Furious fans will need no introduction to the W Motors company. It was their top-of-the-range model, the $3.4 million Lykan HyperSport, that made that mad skyscraping jump in the 7th film. In total, only seven Lykans were ever built, making them one of the most exclusive hypercars in existence.
Billed as the ‘ The first manufacturer of high-performance luxury hypercars in the Middle East,’ W Motors has now broken ground on their Dubai Silicon Oasis factory. And once they’re up to full-speed, they should be rolling around 200 hypercars a year off the production line.
Fenyr GT3 coming in 2021
And the good news is that the rich and famous in Dubai won’t have long to wait until they can get to drive one of the Dubai-made cars.
“The first vehicle that we will bring out from DSO will be a $1.4 million Fenyr SuperSport,” said Ralph R. Debbas, CEO of W Motors. “And we will hit full production from 2021 onwards. Our entire line up will be done in Dubai.”
We’ve started pooling our Dubailad wages to save up for one. Although, let’s be honest: the most we’ll probably be able to afford is a wheel.
