Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan shared a heartwarming message for Emirati Special Olympics athlete Khalifa Bin Dafoos Al Muhairi who passed away due to cancer.
Emirati Special Olympics athlete diagnosed with cancer
Khalifa Bin Dafoos Al Muhairi was a 29-year-old Emirati athlete formerly part of the Special Olympics relay team. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and went through 31 rounds of chemotherapy. He suffered stage four lung cancer and even lost his leg.
Khalifa was also an ex-policeman and a prominent social media personality with 28,500 followers on Instagram. He used to document his battle against cancer on the social media platform.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, supported his battle against cancer by funding $181,000 (AED 6664k) for his treatment last year. He shared a heartfelt message for Khalifa, saying ”The hero left this world as a young man but he leaves behind hope and optimism.”
