Excitement is building as we start counting down toward the World Cup in Qatar this winter!
As part of the anticipated fun, FIFA wants a “fan village” experience during the competition and have presented a tent city where they want to use to house the spectators during the World Cup.
The tents however won’t exactly be a camping experience, as visitors will have to pay around DH 1500 per night to stay at the location in Al Khor.
As hotel bookings fill up, this is probably going to be the cheapest option for fans who want to watch a match or two.
The tents are not going to be average though – they will be quite spacious with air conditioning, a private bathroom, as well as a coffee and tea maker.
There will be Wi-Fi, a TV, a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board, a fridge, a safe which is basically what you’d find in a standard hotel room.
The FIFA World Cup is being held in Al Khor, where the tent city will be located.
The location is also just 40 minutes from Doha and will soon have football fans from around the world enter.
According to FIFA, the Tent City would provide spectators with a “unique experience” that will let them get to know Qatari culture.
FIFA says that Fan Village Al Khor will provide a distinctive Arabian camping experience which also incorporates and reflects Qatari customs.
Sounds like fun!
