Fine and black points if you refuse to give way in the fast lane

The Dubai Police have told drivers in the UAE it’s illegal to refuse to give way in the fast lane and they will fine you if caught.

Dubai Police have launched a campaign including a hashtag and video to highlight illegal driving manoeuvre.

In their video, the police stress that the fast lane is only “for overtaking and emergency vehicles always have priority.”

If you are caught refusing to give way in the fast lane, you’ll be hit with an AED400 fine and four black points.

And the fine still applies even – even! – if you’re driving within the speed limits.

Dubai Police confiscate 1,097 cars for being too noisy in residential areas

Dubai Police have taken more than 1,000 cars off the streets in Dubai after they caused loud disturbances driving through residential areas.

Some of the cars had added boosters which made the car faster – and much louder.

The cars were all caught and taken off the streets by Dubai Police between February 11 and March 17.

And having been woken up by the sound of speeding cars at 3am, we very much agree with this!
