Flood alert and huge hailstones hit UAE even as temperatures hit 50 degrees

A flood alert has been issued in parts of the UAE alongside golf-ball-sized hailstones, even as the summer temperatures hit over 50 degrees.

Yes, this Dubai summer has been unlike any we can remember for a long time.

Even with temperatures soaring above 50 degrees, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued flood warnings with heavy rains and strong winds expected.

They’ve also said loose objects and trees could become a hazard due to the strong winds.

And if that wasn’t enough, huge golf-ball-sized hailstones rained down in Manama and Thawban.

Unsurprisingly, cloud seeding is behind the summer rainfall. An NCM official confirmed it was cloud seeding behind the August rains.

Rain bearing convective clouds in the Eastern regions have been seeded to help trigger rainfall. And, as you can see above, huge hailstones.
