Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr quashed rumours of fighting Manny Pacquiao in a rematch that was speculated to take place in Saudi Arabia.

A mysterious video circulated around social media, showing Floyd Mayweather talk about coming to Saudi Arabia to discuss a potential rematch versus the legendary Manny Pacquiao.

The 42-year-old undefeated boxing champion rubbished the rumours claiming “it’s an old video” and “there’s no talks” about a rematch. He told FightHype:

“Basically, that’s an old video. At the end of the day, there’s no talks about me and Manny Pacquiao fighting a rematch. Even if we did fight, all they’re going to do is have an excuse, just like the first time.”

“I talked to them about me fighting there, just different fights, but they wanted me to specifically say Manny Pacquiao, and actually, we didn’t just talk about boxing; we talked about different events; us bringing different events out there.”

Meanwhile, it’s confirmed that Diriyah in Saudi Arabia will host the hotly-anticipated $85 million (AED 312m) rematch between Andy Ruiz Jr and Anthony Joshua on 7th December. They’re building a custom-built venue for the fight too.
