It looks like Floyd Mayweather is eyeing a comeback to boxing with two fights reportedly planned in May and September 2020.
Floyd Mayweather making a comeback to boxing in 2020
The boxing icon was in his third retirement until he revealed that he will be making a return to combat sports. He describes the comeback as “very fluid” as of now, with one fight looking to be against a boxer and one against a UFC star.
Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2.0 in the works?
It’s been four years since Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao squared off at the iconic ‘Fight of the Century,’ and it doesn’t look like their rivalry has ended yet. According to sources, the 40-year-old Filipino boxer is “seriously” considering the deal.
Since then, Mayweather has taken part in another two fights emerging victorious versus Andre Berto and Conor McGregor, ending his career undefeated at 50-.0, while Pacquiao fought another six matches, winning five and losing one.
Moreover, Pacquiao is now represented by Al Haymon‘s promotion, who used to work closely with Mayweather too.
Conor or Khabib could be Mayweather’s opponents
Meanwhile, ‘Money’ Mayweather was pictured hanging out with UFC President Dana White at an NBA game last week. The 42-year-old is reportedly interested in fighting a boxing match versus a UFC star and chances are it could be Conor McGregor or Khabib Nurmagomedov, fresh from his victory at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi last September.
Conor expressed his interest in a rematch after losing to Mayweather in 2017.
