Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has been known for his savage tongue, but his outburst at social media critics after dining at Saltbae’s steakhouse, Nusr-et landed him a hefty fine.
Gold-plated dining experience at Nusr-et
Franck Ribery was served a “24-Karat steak” by internet-famous chef, Nusret Gökçe who showed off his meal preparation in a video posted by the footballer, who said “No better way to start the year than with a dash of salt and a visit to my Turkish brother.” However, the video followed a string of comments by outraged fans about the French footballer paying a whopping $350 (Dhs 1,285) for the meal.

Franck Ribery’s savage outburst
Some followers called him “immoral,” “disgusting” and “stupid,” to which Ribery lashed out with an explicit post saying “I don’t owe you anything.” “My success is down to God, myself and those close to me who believed in me. For the others, you are just pebbles in my socks” he added. The profanity-laced response followed a backlash among his social media followers.
Bayern Munich issue fine
Although the fine amount hasn’t been revealed, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic said the 35-year-old has been handed a fine for his foul-mouthed comments. Salihamidzic said, “He used words that we as Bayern Munich cannot accept and that Franck as a role model, as a player of Bayern, should never use. I spoke with Franck for a long time yesterday and I informed him that he would receive a large fine. He accepted this fine.”
