There is a lot of hype surrounding the first ever Formula E event in Saudi Arabia and this insane drag race between a Gen2 Formula E car vs a peregrine falcon has ramped it up even further.

With drag races, there’s always going to be winners and losers. In this publicity stunt, veteran Formula One driver Felipe Massa went up against a peregrine falcon, regarded as one of the world’s fastest birds, for a drag race in the roads of Ad Diriyah. Although the video doesn’t show the speedometer’s recordings, the electric car is shown barely edging the falcon to victory. Check it out:
100 km/h in 2.8 seconds in Formula E Gen2 car
Gen 2 is the latest addition to FIA Formula E. Thanks to its cutting-edge technology, the car has a top speed of 280 km/h and 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. Plus, the car boasts a powertrain of 335hp. Its battery is a game-changer, able to last an entire race unlike its predecessors, equipped with batteries that last 45 minutes.
Ad Diriyah E-Prix begins this weekend
Saudi Arabia’s highly anticipated motorsport event, Ad Diriyah E-Prix makes its debut on Saturday, 15th December. The race will witness fast-paced motorsport action among 11 teams and 22 racers. Also, there’s a massive music festival happening to mark the debut, headlined by A-list artists, DJs and bands like Jason Derulo, David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias, One Republic and Amr Diab.
