Dubai Mega Projects 2020 Bluewater Island

Four mega-projects in Dubai set to be finished in 2020!

2020 is going to be a big BIG year in Dubai with some mega-projects due for completion including Bluewater Island, the Museum of The Future, Meydan One and more!

Ain Dubai

Parts of Bluewater island are already open including entertainment zones, a shopping mall, hotels and dozens of bars, cafes and restaurants. But this huge man-made island off the coast of JBR is going to be very, very special when the Ain Dubai Ferris Wheel officially opens. The tallest in the world at 250m, it’ll be double the height of the London Eye. It’s set to open in October alongside Expo 2020 and we can’t wait for the views from the top! Although we will be gripping the sides of the carriage very, very hard when we do get there!

Museum of the Future

A showcase building on Sheikh Zayed Road in front of Emirates Tower, The Museum of the Future Dubai is set to be completed in 2020. The state-of-the-art building will have research centres, science labs and classrooms. And visitors will be able to test out some cutting-edge technology in the huge visitor centre. The striking eye-shaped silver building will also be a hub for future design and prototypes.

Meydan One

The stunning Meydan space keeps growing and expanding. And the latest addition will be Meydan One, a huge shopping mall set to be one of the UAE’s largest. The mall will be home to over 550 shops and 190 restaurants and cafes. And it will also house a 1km indoor ski slope, 8.2km lagoon, go-kart track, stunning fountain, 21-screen cinema complex and huge hypermarket. Phew!

Dubai Harbour

Like Bluewater Island, Dubai Harbour is set to open in October 2020. And when it does, it will be the biggest marina in the region, with world-class facilities. The Harbour is located near Palm Jumeirah and Bluewater Island, with views back towards the Burj Al Arab and Dubai Marina. The Harbour will house a cruise-ship terminal, 1,100 berths, a Helipad and dozens of cafes and restaurants. We wonder if they’ll take a booking for our inflatable Dubailad dinghy?
