We’ve become used to the fast work of the police in the UAE, but even this is impressive as a Fujairah gang were arrested within an hour after stealing items worth AED500,000 from an Emirati’s house.
Three burglars and an employee at the house had made off with cash and jewellery worth AED500,000 from an Emirati house in Fujairah.
And impressively, the Fujairah Police force caught up with the gang of four in less than an hour!
Gang arrested near Ajman
Major General Mohamed Ahmad Al Kaabi, chief commandant of the Fujairah Police said that robbers had targetted a metal safe.
“An Emirati national informed the central operations room of the Fujairah Police that his house had been burgled in broad daylight while he was away. There were cash and jewellery worth Dh500,000 in the safe,” he said.
Col Saif Rashid Al Zahmi, director of Dibba Fujairah Police Station, deployed a search team. And impressively, captured them in less than an hour.
“The burglars had escaped to the emirate of Ajman after committing the crime, but they were finally arrested with the help of our Ajman counterparts.”
All the money and jewellery were recovered and the gang confessed in custody.
“They admitted having planned the burglary after closely watching the movements in and around the house for some time.”
