Rap fans, you can’t miss this! ’90s Gangsta’s Paradise legend Coolio is performing live at Toy Room Dubai this Monday. Thursday, 7th February: Bedouin live at Base Dubai
It’s hard to fathom how Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki revolutionised electronic music with the “desert sound” evolution. The Brooklyn-based production duo, who aptly call themselves ‘Bedouin,’ after joining forces in 2012, rose to prominence with their tribal melodies and nomadic tunes, which landed with gigs at major festivals like Burning Man and All Day I Dream. Friday, 8th February: Groove on the Grass
UAE’s homegrown EDM festival, Groove on the Grass returns for its first edition of 2019 this week. For its season-opening, they’re hosting British electronic music icons, Underworld alongside a stellar line-up of local talents. The festival takes place at Emirates Golf Club this Friday, from 6 pm onwards. Tickets are priced between Dhs 295-375.
Saturday, 9th February: Short+Sweet Theatre Festival at The Junction
In many ways, the theatre scene is on the rise in UAE and Short+Sweet has been a major force behind it. Now in its seventh year, the festival will feature 100+ plays from over 400 actors, directors, producers, scriptwriters and local talents.
