After the success of their first drive-through Coronavirus testing centres, the UAE has announced it’s launching more in the next 10 days.
Yes, you read that right – there are now drive-through testing centres for the Coronavirus in the UAE. We really do love the speed that this country moves at!
The first Coronavirus drive-through testing facility launched in Abu Dhabi over the weekend. And it’s already tested more than 300 people.
The test takes only five minutes and uses the latest technology and highly-qualified staff.
The news was announced by HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
More drive-through testing centres are to be set up in six locations across the UAE. These include centres in Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
And because the drive-through centres are contactless, it allows residents to stay in their car and minimise human contact. Thereby reducing the spread of the Coronavirus.
The testing centres can serve up to 600 people a day, with priority given to the elderly, the pregnant and those with underlying health problems.
And if you are driving to get yourself tested, make sure to pay attention to this list of Coronavirus fines and penalties to make sure you don’t get caught out!
